Situation: Hands-On Engineer who walks 7-10,000 steps a day, combined with much desk work. Not a Tradesman. I much prefer the insanely comfy support of Salomon shoes when walking extensively, but Jungle Mocs are great for mixed walking/sitting. When your feet swell you don't need to kick them off.Pros:- Typical dependable, Jungle Moc comfort. Enough support for "just walking", but not enough support for climbing nor mixed terrain (outdoor non-paved). So don't expect a boot-fit.- VERY sturdy without being stiff. Composite Toe is strong and roomy-enough. Footbed is typical Jungle Moc "10-quality" cradling support.- These are a full step-up in firm support vs. standard Jungle Mocs. So they are well-qualified for industrial work, on paved surfaces.- Some people ridicule Jungle Mocs as "Dad Shoes", but I think they look sporty with jeans that don't drag on the shoe tops.- The soles are unique to Merrel's work shoes. According to other reviewers, the dots running down the center are likened to "Octopus Suction Cups" in that they enhance grip on smooth flooring. Not "sticky"; just better grip than smooth floors.Minor ConOne of my shoes quickly burned a 1/8" blister hole into the inboard (arch) side of one of my ankles, right behind the elastic gusset. But a) My feet pronate, so duh, and b) I put a small bandage on the spot until the shoe breaks in, so it's all good. You might want to pay attention to friction points until break-in is complete. These are sturdy shoes, after all.Highly Recommended
